A Thanksgiving Gathering Table
I don’t know about you, but Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. I love the notion of family coming home and together from near and far, gathering around to enjoy the family’s favorite eats, and beginning to celebrate with family traditions through to the rest of the year. Our family used to always get together and watch the newest 007 movie after Thanksgiving Dinner and when 007 took a hiatus from production, we would make a bee line to the outlets for some Black Friday shopping! When Thanksgiving comes around, it’s almost a symbolic symbol to be of good cheer for the rest of the year. Basically, everyone is granted a merriment vacation until the next year starts!
This year, gathering for Thanksgiving may be smaller and may be celebrated differently, but the notion and spirit is the same. For our gathering table this month, we created a curated table that you can easily do for your Thanksgiving gathering table. We are also selling holiday kits for the first time so that you can re-create this table at home quickly and with ease.
No matter how you are gathering this year, we hope that it will be a gathering of love, full bellies and remembering what the most important thing life offers is - family and people you love. Gather beautifully friends!
*Special thanks to Olivia Marshall Photo for capturing beautiful imagery of our table and to Bon Ton Studio for graciously welcoming us and our gathering table into the shop!
CREATE THIS TABLE
For our gathering table, we focused on colors and elements of dried florals to make our table come to life! If you haven’t noticed, we love using table runners for our gathering tables. It creates texture and a softness to make any table feel romantic and well put together! For our table this month, we put the runner at a diagonal from the front of the table to create interest. We loved how it turned out!
For the table settings, we used wicker placemats to bring a sense of harvest and warmth to the table, and layered ceramic plates for each setting. To make each place setting special, we wrapped velvet ribbon around our napkins, created cards that serve as place cards with a message “Grateful for you!” and placed a small dried floral bundle on top of it all. We added taper candles around our centerpiece to bring warmth to the table and voila, our Thanksgiving Gathering Table is complete!
This month we created a special Thanksgiving gathering kit for you to emulate this table at home with simplicity and ease. Enjoy!
For our Thanksgiving table, we created a floral centerpiece, but you don’t need to have/create a full centerpiece to create a beautiful table! Grab a couple of bud vases and loose blooms (from your local grocer) and you can easily create a beautiful centerpiece for your table! Designer’s Tip: If you choose to do flowers in a bud vase, make sure you cut down the flower stems so when they are placed in the bud vases, they are at different heights to create depth!
CRAFTING THE DETAILS OF OUR FALL TABLE
