We were looking for a little something to pull our August picnic tablescape together and decided to do a little DIY macrame to create a beautiful table runner. I always find that macrame adds a little bit of a boho feel to the scene and this macrame table runner did just that. If you’re looking for a great intro to macrame project, this is where you should start!

INSTRUCTIONS

2. Fold each piece of rope in half and tie a knot 10 inches down from halfway point in the rope.

3. Hang your dowel/copper rod using cotton rope and a picture hanger/thumb tack at the top.

3. Hang each of your pieces of folded/knotted rope with one string on either side of the dowel - with the knot sitting on top of the dowel. Gather all the folded ends and tie them together with a rubber band/hair tie to get them out of the way.

Lay it down bare on the table or overlay your macrame runner on top of another fabric table runner for a beautiful layering effect.
